Book of the Month: True to the Game

November's Book of the Month is another one of my all time favorites, True to the Game by Teri Woods. This story is about an "around the way" girl named Janel "Gena" Scott and her man, who happens to be the most successful drug dealer in the area Quadir "Qua" Richards. This book is one of the classics. It's a true love story and one of great pain and loss. I laughed and cried while reading this book. There is always a price to pay for the type of life they lead, and no one gets by with out paying it. From losing the people that they love, to be being betrayed, to having to deal with jealousy and malice at every corner, it gave a real life look at way some guys get into the game and the struggles that a d-boy's girl goes through. This book is part of a trilogy, but the other to aren't as good as the first installment. Trust me.
