Chillaxin' With My Sis

Sisters Hanging Out

Today was a pretty cool day. I had the day off, so I went and did the usual while my little sister was at school, which consisted of me basically just going to class and then coming home and enjoying the peace and quite that I can't get while others are in the house with me. That was all fine and cool, and very much needed. ((Everybody should set aside a time each day in which they will have a little peace)) <= learned that in yoga.

Around 5 o' clock I had to take my sister to the optometrist to get her eyes checked. She has just become a teenager and wanted to get a pair of contacts. I guess she thinks that they will make look older. They won't though, she just has a young face ... as do I. It hereditary. It was funny because she had the hardest time trying to get the contacts in her eyes. I wanted to help, but was afraid that I would poke her eye out with my long nails. So in comes the doctor, just so sure of himself and his capability to get the contacts in my sister's eyes. Turns out that he couldn't get them in either. At this point I'm cracking up. I think me being in there watching her made my sister nervous, because as soon as I went to the restroom and came back, with a little team work they finally had the contacts in both of her eyes. That in and of itself made my sister's day.

Usually once a week I try to set aside some time for her and me to just hang out and talk about any and everything. I don't want her to feel alone like I did growing up, so I try to be there for her.

For a couple of weeks now I've been on this trip about trying new things, so today after her eye appointment, she and I decided to try a restaurant that we've always said we would eat at one day. I'm not going to lie, the food could have been better, but it was cool for what it was. It was not that expensive, and I was there more for the company than the food anyway.

It's crazy because my Lil Pooh is growing up before my eyes. I almost can't believe it. She turning out to be a great person. As I learn more about her, the more I love her. So far, she's been a really cool kid. I can't wait to see what kind of woman she becomes, but I know that she's on the right track.

She's got me in her life, how could she not be?
